Yatai or Taikodai 屋台・太鼓台 Yatai Pictures used in festivity.
Yatai and Taikodai are seen in the Setonaikai region as well as generally in the West Japan. A few tens of people carrying a yatai march through the streets, while two to several people often riding loudly beat Taikos.
舁き山の屋台・太鼓台は、瀬戸内海沿岸を中心に西日本一帯で多く見られる。地域によって様々な違いがあるが、2～6名程度の人間が乗り込んで内部の太鼓を叩き、その太鼓の音に合わせて掛け声をかけ、数十人～百人以上で担ぎ上げ、練り歩くという形式は共通している。
Yatai and Mikoshi 神輿と屋台の違い
A yatai is used to precede or accompany a Mikoshi, and often dedicates a march to the god of a shrine. A yatai is commonly owned by the area worshipers while a Mikoshi is a possesion of the Shrine. A mikoshi (神輿) is a divine palanquin.
神輿が神社の所有物であるのに対して、太鼓台は山車と同様に氏子地域からの出し物であることが多く、太鼓台の祭礼における役割は神輿渡御のお供や先導（露払い）、および神前での練りによる奉納等である。
神前や観衆への見せ場（交差点等の広くなった場所）において最も多く行われる練りは、太鼓台を頭上高く持ち上げて舁く「差し上げ」である。その他にも、放り上げる、大きく揺らす、回転させる、土台（台輪）部分のみで担ぐ、複数で練り競う（かきくらべ）、どちらが早く差し上げられるかを競う、等といった動作で練るところがある。

Yatai Festivals 屋台祭り
During summer seasons, many yatai festivals are held by city or twonships throughout Japan. The lenght festivals vary from a day to a few days.
During a matsuri (Japanese festival) involving a yatai, people bear it on their shoulders by means of two, four (or sometimes, rarely, six) poles. They bring the yatai from the shrine, carry it around the neighborhoods that worship at the shrine, and in many cases leave it in a designated area, resting on blocks called uma (horse), for a time before returning it to the shrine.

国宝 姫路城 National Treasure Himeji Castle
Himeji Castle, the only major wooden castle left in Japan. It is currently in restoration. 姫路城(ひめじじょう)。兵庫県姫路市(ひょうごけん ひめじし)の駅前(えきまえ)にそびえたつ。江戸初期(えどしょき)に構築(こうちく)、白鷺城(しらさぎじょう)とよばれ、現在(げんざい)に残(のこ)る代表的(だいひょうてき)な城(しろ)で、国宝(こくほう)に指定(してい)されています。
姫路市(ひめじし)は東京(とうきょう)から南西(なんせい)へ、新幹線(しんかんせん)で約3時間半(やくさんじかんはん)。
